Joining LAMTA

Interested in becoming a member?

LAMTA is a non-profit organization comprised of professional music teachers in Lawrence, KS, and we are committed to providing performance opportunities and educational experiences to our students at an affordable cost. If you are a new music teacher in Lawrence or seeking opportunities for your studio, you've come to the right place. We gladly welcome new members and would love to hear from you. 

Joining LAMTA is simple. If you hold a Bachelor of Music or Bachelor of Music Education degree from an accredited institution with at least a minor in the instrument you teach, you are eligible to apply.

  • Please use the contact form to tell us about your background, education, teaching focus, and why you wish to become a member. 

  • Please plan to submit your college transcripts to our president so we may verify your degree.

  • Annual dues are $30.

Once a member, you will benefit from the following:

  • Studio participation in monthly recitals hosted by our organization. This gives you the flexibility to set performance goals for your students' individual needs. Our recitals are often themed, providing a variety of music for students to work towards. The cost is $1 per student. Locations vary.

  • Studio participation in local master classes and lecture recitals

  • Meeting a network of like-minded teachers who are interested in sharing ideas and supporting each other's teaching endeavors

  • Being in the loop on music happenings in Lawrence and the Kansas City area (concerts, special events, competitions, seminars, etc.)

  • Advertising your studio information on our members page

  • Contributing to your community & growing your studio
